The only problem I have with this app is: it starts off vertical format with the TV image small, in the top half of the screen. It is supposed to go to full screen when it is turned on its side--horizontal. It takes a long time to get it to do that, and I have to switch the orientation back and forth a number of times. Often it will only go horizontal if held on the left side up. Sometimes it wont orient horizontally at all. This was not problem prior to the last update. They fix one bug and another pops up!

Live streaming fails multiple times today on iOS. It has been fine so far. I hope this can alert the tech support.

Its organized very well, and I really like the background audio feature, which I can use in case I want to multi-task and listen! Its very screen-reader accessible for us visually-impaired folks, too. Thanks for a great experience.

Please add the capability to google cast or chrome cast this app to big screen or smart TVs!! Also, I very much appreciate the addition of being able to view previous or recorded programs. It would be great if you could increase the number of available programs.

I love NHK channel as well as app, this is what TV should be, I am watching scientists discussing the role of science in the society. The variety of the programs is beautiful, I dont see anything like that on US TV, keep up the good work!!

I love this app. It lets me keep up with all thats going on in Japan...oh yeah with the other parts of world as well. :D

Love the J news, app works perfect. Still feeling the loss of the AJazeera English live stream in app. Nice the have NHK still around.

Thanks for allowing us to watch N.H.K. World live anywhere, anytime! I love it and use it regularly. One thing, though: Could an option be added for written news articles (like the options in Apps of the B.B.C., Arirang, R.T., and D.W.), please? That would be very useful to those who want to know whats happening in the world, but dont have much time.

Great app. If you are a news junkie you will enjoy it. This is a streaming Japan-based world news channel app that broadcasts in English. There are no commercials, no talking heads shouting and talking over each other, and they cover news happening all over in the world not just in Japan. I wish we had this channel on American cable systems. Al Jazeera America is the closest thing we have.

Nice variety of news and personal interest documentary type shows. Simple app just plays the video stream and works well every time.

The interface could use a redesign and should be merged into a single application instead of having a separate iPad and iPhone branch. As a news source the interference by the Abe government is unfortunate as NHK is one of the least biased stations in the Pacific. The features on culture and history are uniformly excellent and it’d be nice if NHK would offer a way to share them online and spread the influence.

I really hope that the makers of this app continue support for it. If only more people could see how great it is! I especially enjoy the shorts that feature Japanese cultural festivals, food, etc. its really great and its free!!!! No ads either! Go japan!

I gave this app 4 star simply because it doesnt have chromecast support, otherwise its a fantastic app.

Such an awesome app. I enjoy watching. What I love most is that they have daily schedules and you can put like a bookmark on the segment you would want to watch. Youll be notified minutes before the show starts. I hope other channels make an app like this as well.

Great for when I dont have access to a TV.

Great way to keep up with NHK tv while mobile. Plus you can load NHKs website from within the app. (Via information screen) Great free app! As others have said, NHK News is always unbiased and straight facts. But that is only half of what you get. NHK also broadcasts great tv shows for an English speaking audience. A lot to learn about Japan just from 30 mins. From travel to nature, history, music and culture, NHK has it all.

Definitely a great app if you love nhk programming.
